Azerbaijan posts over 7.6-fold increase in wind power generation

Azerbaijan produced 9,991,000,000 kWh electricity in January-May 2019, up 4.4% from 2018, Report informs citing the State Statistical Committee.
In the reporting period, hydro power plants produced 683,300,000 kWh of electric power, down 8.2% in comparison to a year earlier.
Heating power stations produced 8,895.9 million kWh of energy, up 5.3% more than in 2018.
Production by wind power stations rose by 7.6-fold to 48.6 million kWh.
Solar power generation dropped by 10.6% to 16.7 million kWh.
