Azerbaijan posts over 16% growth in gas exports to Türkiye

In January-June 2023, Azerbaijan exported 5,180,660,000 cubic meters of gas to Türkiye, up 16.4% from the previous year, Report informs, citing Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).

In June alone, the gas exports from Azerbaijan to Türkiye made up 743.68 million cubic meters, up 1.95% from a year earlier.

Thus, Azerbaijan ranked first among the countries supplying gas to Türkiye, with a share of 31.9% in the country’s gas market.

In the reporting period, Türkiye imported 2,332.42 million cubic meters of gas, showing a 39.2% decline compared to the same period in 2022.

In June, Russia ranked second with the export of 707.52 million cubic meters of gas to Türkiye, which is 58.13% less than a year ago.

Iran ranked third with the export of 419.18 million cubic meters of gas, up 50.98% from June 2022.
