Azerbaijan posts 2% rise in heating power generation

Production in the sector of electric power, gas, steam production, distribution, and supply reached AZN 195,400,000 in January 2020, up 6.4% from 2018, the State Statistical Committee said.
Production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 1%, settling at AZN 23.9 million.
In the reporting period, Azerbaijan generated 2,185,100,000 kWh of electric power, down 0.4% from a year earlier.
Of this volume, hydropower plants generated 63.9 million kWh, a decrease of 34.9% from the previous year.
Heating power stations produced 2,043.9 million kWh of energy, 2% more than in 2019.
Wind power production dropped by 36.8% to 7.2 million kWh and solar power generation by 8.3% to 2.2 million kWh.
