Azerbaijan doubles wind power generation

Production in the sector of electric power, gas, steam production, distribution, and supply reached AZN 1,772,000,000 in January-November 2019, up 2.6% from 2018, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

Production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 5.9%, settling at AZN 298.4 million.

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan generated 21,176,900,000 kWh of electric power, up 4.57% from a year earlier.

Of this volume, hydropower plans generated 1,464,500,000 kWh, a decrease of 10.3% from the previous year.

Heating power stations produced 19,571,700,000 kWh of energy, 5.6% more than in 2018.

Wind power production doubled to 100 million kWh and solar power generation by 9.4% to 40.7 million kWh.
