Ambassador: US Supports Azerbaijan's Contribution to Europe's Energy Security

"We express our support for the contribution of Azerbaijan in ensuring the energy security of Europe and the world."

Report informs, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Earl Litzenberger said at a Regional Energy Security Symposium at ADA University.

"We express our support for the contribution of Azerbaijan in ensuring the energy security of Europe and the world. From this point of view, Azerbaijan is the only alternative to Russian gas for Europe in direction of East-West. In particular, the United States supports the Southern Gas Corridor project and all companies involved in it”, - he said.

The diplomat also stressed that since the independence of Azerbaijan US has always supported the independence, stability and prosperity of the country, cooperating in all areas of the economy and politics: "An important factor in terms of ensuring the energy security of Azerbaijan and Europe is the fight against cyber threats. We recommend Azerbaijan to make this issue a priority. SGC will help Azerbaijan to strengthen bilateral relations with many European countries".
