Ambassador: Electricity produced in Karabakh will be exported via Iran

Electricity to be produced in Karabakh will be exported to Nakhchivan, Turkiye, and European countries through Iran, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyyed Abbas Mousavi told Report.

According to him, Iran will also use this electricity: "In the future, Iranian companies are expected to participate in the construction of power plants in Karabakh."

The ambassador added that Iranian companies might engage in the construction of both an educational complex and a hospital in Karabakh, and work is underway in this direction.

On July 2, 1994, the "Memorandum of Cooperation in the Field of hydroelectric power stations" was signed between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The memorandum agreed to start construction of Khudaferin and Maiden Tower hydro junctions.
