SSC: 22,000 specialists engaged in scientific research in Azerbaijan

Baku. 17 January. REPORT.AZ/ 135 scientific organizations and enterprises, engaged in various scientific and technical services, operated in the country to the beginning of this year.

Report informs referring to the State Statistical Committee (SSC) of Azerbaijan.

According to the report, more than 22.5 thousand specialists are engaged in scientific research and studies in these scientific centers, 69% of which are researchers. One out of every three of them is a Doctor of Sciences or PhD.

In addition, 10,000 scientific and teaching staff, not on permanent staff and working at higher educational institutions, conduct research and study at scientific research divisions.

More than half of them are Doctor of Sciences or PhD.

Currently, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has 73 full and 113 correspondent members.
