Incoming of spring in Azerbaijan this year declared

Baku. 15 February. REPORT.AZ/ This year incoming of spring in Azerbaijan will happen on March 20, about 08.30 a.m. Baku time.

Report informs, Deputy Director of ANAS Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory Khidir Mikayilov said.

According to him, on March 19, the Sun will pass from the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern Hemisphere: 'At that moment, the Sun will be on the point of intersection of Earth motion plane and Earth equatorial plane. This point is called 'spring equinox' in astronomy. When the Sun is on that point, equality of day and night will be observed. From that moment, astronomical spring begins in the North Hemisphere and lasts till June 21.'

Notably, February 23 is the first Tuesday and March 15 is the last.
