Event on occasion of AzeDer’s first anniversary held in Istanbul
Baku. 29 September. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan Education, Culture and Cooperation Association (AzeDer) celebrated its first anniversary in Istanbul. Report informs, Azerbaijani and Turkish state officials, Turkey Grand National Assembly (Parliament) deputies, businessmen, representatives of science, education and cultural fields, as well as students studying in the fraternal country, and the public representatives attended the ceremony. The event started with a minute of silence in memory of three Azerbaijani students died in car accident, in Turkey on September 26.

The chairman of AzeDer Rashad Abdullayev’s report was listened in the event. At the end of his report, R.Abdullayev expressed his condolences to the families of the Azerbaijani students died in car accident in Ushak city of Turkey and wished the injured a speedy recovery. He stated that AzeDer was always ready to give financial and moral support. The Chairman said that the organization's mission is to support Azerbaijani youth to win individual career, to share their experience and ideas with the youth of foreign countries, to carry out projects on improving social lives of Azerbaijani youth. The Chairman stressed their support for the development of more Azerbaijani young people's personal career and said that they would act as INDEX - Human Capital Development Centre in future. For this purpose, they will try to give a small contribution to the development of human capital.

Then, a film reflected the activity of the organization was shown. The film informed about Human Capital followed it. The importance of the development of Human Capital and national leader Heydar Aliyev’s reforms on the youth and education were noted. It was also mentioned that a total of 47 students studied abroad in 1969-1970 academic year but as the result of deliberate policy implemented by the national leader Heydar Aliyev in 1975, this number increased by 14 times to about 700. Rising the number of students representing Azerbaijan in other countries was highlighted in the video where the priority of President Ilham Aliyev’s appeal on “turning black gold into human capital” was also noted.

The head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Social and Political Department Vusal Guliyev highly praised AzeDer’s annual activity and its objectives and spoke about various directions and results of the youth and education policies implemented by national leader Heydar Aliyev after restoration of our independence and provided detailed information about state programs and their results in this regard carried out by President Ilham Aliyev during his leadership.

Turkish Member of Parliament Mustafa Kabakchi, Chairman of the Youth Union of the New Azerbaijan Party Seymur Orujov, the head of desk of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Education Ilham Naghiyev, the counselor of Azerbaijan Embassy in Ankara Nejibe Nesibova and the rector of Baku Higher Petroleum School Elmar Gasimov appreciated the annual activity of AzeDer in their speeches and wished success in future. It was noted that the organization works effectively on developing the relationships between Azerbaijani and Turkish youth. The speakers noting national leader Heydar Aliyev’s historical assistance to Azerbaijani peoples continued by Ilham Aliyev, spoke about the role of non-governmental organizations in the development of our society and the importance of state support to NGOs’ development. Azerbaijan introduced a new model to the world with its successful youth policy. As the result of purposeful policy carried out by President Ilham Aliyev, substantial education reforms are made; new educational institutions meeting international standards are established; state programs are carried out for Azerbaijani youth to study abroad, as well as, foreign students are provided to study in Azerbaijan.

At the end of the event, the students gained experience in leading companies and international organizations in European countries were presented the certificates by the organization of AzeDer. Azerbaijani youth with experience gained in companies and organizations leading around the world like BP, Statoil, PWC, the European Parliament, the UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) were presented the certificates by the rector of Baku Higher Petroleum School Elmar Gasimov, the head of the Youth Union of New Azerbaijan Party Seymur Orujov and the head of International and Public Relation Department of State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Azad Jafarov.
