Baku. 26 October. REPORT.AZ/ An event titled "Our National Flag, Our National Identity" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the state flag of Azerbaijan was held with the joint steering support of the “Patak” Spiritual Education of New Generation Public Union and the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan.
Report informs that representatives of the Ministry of Education, the State Committee for Family, Women and Children, representatives of the Ombudsman Office, as well as TIKA, representatives of Baku city Education Department and schoolchildren attended the event held at the National History Museum of Azerbaijan.
Director of “Patak” PU Sevinj Askerova said that the purpose of the event is the mastering of information about creation and history of the Azerbaijani flag and its challenging and glorious way over 100 years by schoolchildren.
She said that the state flag is a great legacy for future generations: "Not all flags have as much symbolic meaning as the flag of Azerbaijan has. Our flag is a great reminder for us. Our flag features upbringing of a child, growing up as a complete citizen, complex upbringing of all of them. The colors, symbols of our flag is a lighthouse in terms of learning our roots, knowing our history, finding out where we come from, where are we going and how we should live."
Employee of the Baku City Education Department Sakina Aghalarova thanked the organizers of the event and spoke about the importance of holding such events.
Later, the schoolchildren staged plays about the flag and read out poems.
