Baku. 18 March. REPORT.AZ/ The dates of the first solar and lunar eclipses of this year were announced. Deputy director of Shamakhi Astrophysics Observatory of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Khidir Mikayilov said to Report that the solar eclipse falls on March 20 while the lunar eclipse on April 4.

According to him, the solar eclipse will begin on March 20 at 11: 40 a.m.: "The natural phenomenon that will start at 15: 48 p.m., will last for 4 hours 8 minutes. The solar eclipse will be observed within 1 hour and 30 minutes in Azerbaijan . People must use special glasses to watch the solar eclipse or they can use the old variant - to look at this natural phenomenon with the smoked glass. The observation of solar eclipse will begin at 13:46 p.m. and end at 15:18 p.m. "

Khidir Mikayilov added that the first lunar eclipse for the current year will fall on April 4: "The second solar eclipse will be observed on September 13 while the second lunar eclipse on September 28."
