Book 'Journey of Jirtdan' presented in Baku

A presentation of the book "Journey of Jirtdan" was held in Baku with the organizational support of the Third Spring public association. The publication was prepared on a voluntary basis by lecturers from the Department of World Languages at the Azerbaijan University of Languages.

According to Report, the event opened with remarks by the chair of the association, Narmin Ganiyeva, who spoke about the organization's work.

She noted that the association focuses on improving the social welfare of elderly people, enhancing their quality of life, and supporting their integration into society. Over the past 10 years, she said, more than 46,000 elderly people have benefited from its activities.

She noted that lecturers from the university's Department of World Languages prepared educational and methodological materials in English, French, and German on a voluntary basis, applying inclusive teaching approaches. The main goal of the initiative is to improve access to education within an inclusive learning environment.

Project leader Nargiz Seyidova emphasized the importance of incorporating inclusive methods into foreign language teaching.

She stated that the materials help develop communication skills among learners with different educational needs, as they are designed according to individual abilities and levels of comprehension. According to her, simplified explanations, visual aids, and practical exercises make the resources more effective in inclusive classrooms.

Participants at the event discussed the book and the activities of the Third Spring association, praising the initiative. They also underlined that inclusive education is a key component of modern human-centered education systems widely used in many developed countries.

The presentation also featured artistic performances, where representatives of both younger and older generations recited poems and performed songs in foreign languages.

The authors of the book are Narmin Ganiyeva, Aydan Goychayeva, Turan Mehdizada, Goncha Abdurrahimova, and Arasta Khudiyeva.
