One more phase of joint project of Baku Higher Oil School and BP completed Baku. 19 December. Baku. 19 December. REPORT.AZ/ Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) hosted a graduation ceremony for the participants of “Business education for engineers” program implemented jointly by BHOS and BP company in Azerbaijan, Report informs citing the PR department of the Higher School. It was attended by the Higher School Rector Elmar Gasimov, BP communications, external affairs, strategy and Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey region (AGT) Vice president Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, representatives of BP management and other guests.

Opening the gathering, BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov said that the innovative “Business education for engineers”project is developed to equip young Azerbaijani specialists with the knowledge of, and skills in, leadership and management, thus facilitating their more efficient integration into business environment. The Rector expressed his gratitude to the management of BP company for the support of the project. In his words, it represents a bright example of professional knowledge exchange and sharing.

BP Vice president for AGT region Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli emphasizedthat, as long-term partner of Azerbaijan, BP always paid a special attention to educational projects among all social initiatives supported by the company in the country. In his words, this program contributes to building the necessary management and business skills at the university stage to add to the high level of engineering education and industrial experience of the prospective graduates.

Speaking at the ceremony, the program participants noted that the project played an important role in gaining new knowledge and experience and expressed their gratitude to the project initiators. Then 56 students of national universities including, among others, Baku Higher Oil School, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, UFAZ University and Baku Engineering University received certificates on the course successful completion. Certificates were also presented to three best instructors of the program.

The “Business Education for Engineers” course curriculum is comprised of eight core modules: presentation and communication skills; project management; time management and efficiency; leadership; risk management; introduction to finance, budget and cost control; HR management fundamentals; and negotiation skills.
