REPORT.AZ/ Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Khairullah Spelenai paid a visit to Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) and met with Rector Elmar Gasimov, Report informs citing the press service of the Higher School. Welcoming the guest, the Rector briefed him about BHOS activities. Ambassador of Afghanistan to Azerbaijan Khairullah Spelenai pointed out that Afghanistan is keen to boost the national economy for sustainable growth. In his words, being distinguished by its rich history intertwined with hydrocarbon production, Azerbaijan has great experience in nurturing specialists in petroleum and chemical engineering. “Being a cradle of innovation and technological achievements, particularly in the oil and gas industry, Azerbaijan is of great interest for Afghanistan, with its diverse natural resources and energy reserves,” the Ambassador said.
At the meeting, prospects of training of Afghan specialists in Azerbaijan were discussed. Ambassador Khairullah Spelena expressed the hope that Azerbaijan would attract the best students and help them get an education in various universities, including BHOS. In his words, two students from Afghanistan could be admitted to BHOS in the new academic year.
During the visit, the Ambassador Khairullah Spelenai and the accompanying persons were given a tour around the BHOS campus.
