Ambassador: Interest to Japanese language grows in Azerbaijan

Baku. 19 September. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan which connects Europe and Asia is an important country for Japan.

Report informs, Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan Teruyuki Katore said at the opening ceremony of four auditoriums for researchers of Japanese language at Baku State University.

“Our relationship with Azerbaijan are developing and deepening from year to year. Our cooperation is multi-sectoral, in our relationship with Azerbaijan recently we have been giving priority to development of non-oil sector.” said T. Katore.

According to him, interest to Japanese language in Azerbaijan constantly grows. “This is proved by the teaching of Japanese language not only on the faculty level at universities, but also at elementary schools”, he added.

In his turn, the BSU Rector Abel Maharramov said the major repair work and equipment of four auditoriums with necessary equipment for learning Japanese language will help to prepare high-quality linguists.

He said that the Azerbaijani and Japanese universities closely interact in academic sphere. “We have already made and continue to implement a number of joint projects in science field. This project on opening auditoriums is not our first project.” he added.

A. Maharramov also added that as of today 15 students and masters from the BSU conduct various researches in Japan.
