Ministry of Education: 8553 teachers have been recruited and new school directors have been appointed to 300 schools

According to the new competition mechanism, the new directors have been appointed to 300 schools in 2018-2019 academic year, while this indicator is 900 for last five years, Report informs citing the Ministry of Education.

Work is underway to improve the system on appointment of school directors.

According to the Ministry, totally 4,053 teachers were recruited on the basis of termless contract, while on the basis of 4,500 teachers were recruited on the basis of term contract. This has been the highest figure in terms of occupation of vacancies by 100 %.

In 2018, the number of participants in the competition rose more than threefold compared to previous years, the number of applicant exceeded 51,000. In general, over the past 5 years, the quality of the teacher staff has improved, more than 20,000 young teachers have been recruited.
