Zagatala-Balakan Biosphere Reserve will be ready by end of 2023

"The preparatory work on the project to create the Zagatala-Balakan Biosphere Reserve has already been completed," Director of Department for Biodiversity Conservation and Development of Specially Protected Natural Areas of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Hikmat Alizade said.

According to him, an international tender organized by the German Development Bank was held: "In the coming weeks, the winner of the tender will be announced, that is, the executing company, which will begin work on the creation of a biosphere reserve."

Alizade noted that the project will be completed by the end of 2023.
