Tokayev: Protecting Caspian Sea - critical for regional ecological balance

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has stressed that safeguarding the Caspian Sea is of decisive importance for ecological balance and biodiversity, Report informs.
He made the statement today at the Regional Ecological Summit in Astana.
Tokayev emphasized that any use of military force in the Caspian region must be excluded and prohibited.
"Protecting the Caspian Sea is crucial for the region's ecological balance, biodiversity, and sustainability. In this regard, Kazakhstan has proposed an interstate program to prevent further degradation of the Caspian and established a research institute to advance regional cooperation," Tokayev said.
He also called on stakeholders to support efforts to preserve this unique natural "treasure."
