Ministry unveils purpose of fencing forests

Baku. 26 February. REPORT.AZ/ "Fencing of some parts of forest areas is carried out to prevent forest fires and uncontrolled livestock grazing," head of the Forest Development Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Sadiq Salmanov told Report.

He said that this process will create conditions for the protection of newly planted seedings, as well as will promote restoration of forests and will lead to preventive measures for the protection of forests from fires.

The official said that the main cause of forest fires in all parts of the world is related to human factor: "Unfortunately, as a result of improper behavior of the population, forest fires occurred in Azerbaijan last year. For this reason, fencing works are carried out in some areas of the forests. Fencing works in the forests will only be carried out in the areas where it is necessary."

He emphasized that the process involves only natural fencing and wire fences are established only in some areas.
