Minister: Geological exploration underway in Kalbajar’s promising structure of Tutkhun

"Geological exploration has begun in the prospective Tutkhun structure with rich gold deposits in the liberated Kalbajar District," Report informs, citing Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev telling the panel on "Great Return to Karabakh: Sustainable Settlement and Economic Reintegration" at the UNEC Economic Forum.

The minister noted that geological and geophysical work is underway at the Zargulu, Gizilitan, Western Gizilitan and Gazikhanli sites.

According to M. Babayev, in connection with the exploration, development and operation of ore deposits in Kalbajar District, long-term contracts have been concluded with companies belonging to the Cengiz Holding group (Turkey):

"The subject matter of the contract is the start of mining activities in our territories liberated from occupation. The implementation of projects is of great importance in terms of efficient use of the region's natural resources, revitalizing the economy. This will also contribute to the opening of new enterprises in these territories and the creation of new jobs."
