Media Movement holds awareness campaign to battle COVID-19

The Media Movement "Protect yourself, save the environment" has held an awareness campaign as part of the measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Members of media outlets involved in the action distributed masks to the people in the neighboring areas and reminded the need to use protective equipment, maintain social distance, and follow hygienic rules.

More than 100 media representatives and journalists have joined the Media Movement "Protect yourself, save the environment" initiated by Spokesperson for the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Irada Ibrahimova, to fight the pandemic.

So far, Azerbaijan has 16,424 confirmed cases and 198 related deaths. The country's recoveries stand at 9,026, the treatment of 7,200 people is underway. A total of 468,967 coronavirus tests have been conducted across the country.

The government imposed strict quarantine regime in Baku, Sumgayit, Absheron, Ganja, Yevlakh, Jalilabad, Lankaran and Masalli cities and Absheron region from June 21 to July 5. People are allowed to leave their places of residence only upon permission by sending a text message.
