"Today, we celebrate Victory Day in Shusha, on the Jidir Plain. All of Azerbaijan celebrates this glorious holiday. Azerbaijan has restored its territorial integrity, restored historical justice," President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, said speaking to the military in Shusha, Report informs.

"We fulfilled our historic mission by driving the enemy out of our native lands. In 44 days, Azerbaijan won a historic victory by destroying all Armenian fortifications built for thirty years, all combat positions, and the Armenian army. It is you and tens of thousands of our soldiers who gave this glorious holiday to our people. The Second Karabakh War is a bright page in our glorious history. The Azerbaijani people have mobilized all their forces and fulfilled this glorious mission. During the years of occupation, I repeatedly said that every Azerbaijani citizen should bring this holy day closer with his work and deeds. The people will not reconcile with the occupation, and we mobilized all our efforts to put an end to the occupation and drove the enemy out of our historical lands," he said.
