Ruling party official: "Azerbaijan has turned into a country which has a say in the world"

"The glorious Azerbaijani army led by victorious Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev liberated our occupied lands as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War, thereby ensuring the territorial integrity of our country," said Tahir Budagov, deputy chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party - head of the Central Board, as quoted by Report.

Budagov noted that after the Victory, Azerbaijan is facing more grandiose tasks.

"Therefore, the New Azerbaijan Party will keep the implementation of these tasks in the focus of its future activity," he said.

The Deputy Chairman recalled that in the early 90s, the republic was overwhelmed by chaos, anarchy and faced a threat to its statehood.

"In such conditions, the intellectuals concerned about the future of Azerbaijan appealed to National Leader Heydar Aliyev regarding the establishment of the New Azerbaijan Party. In a short period that followed the creation of the party, National Leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power at people's request, saved the country from the threat of termination, and led it to the path of development."

According to Budagov, today, the party is going through a new stage of development under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership.

"The New Azerbaijan Party has turned into the biggest political power in the South Caucasus," he said.

According to the party official, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has turned into a country that has a say in the world arena, and a new stage of development has started in the history of our country.

"In this respect, the New Azerbaijan Party should continue its activity in line with the new, modern requirements for the fulfillment of tasks set. The young members of our party should take an active part in this process," Budagov concluded.
