President unveils monument to prominent philanthropist

"I have always had great respect for the personality of Zeynalabdin Tagiyev. Back in the early 2000s, when I was not yet president, the Pir Hassan sanctuary, where his grave is located, was landscaped on my initiative," President Ilham Aliyev said this on January 18 at the opening of a monument to philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev in Baku, Report informs.

"Today I am very glad that the monument to Zeynalabdin Tagiyev has been erected in Baku. He deserves it. The people of Azerbaijan keep in their hearts everyone who has merits before the people, before history, before the nation.

Once again, I want to congratulate the people from the bottom of my heart on this occasion and wish the people of Azerbaijan new successes and new victories. Thank you," the president said.
