President Ilham Aliyev speaks on construction of tunnel under Mount Murov

"At present, our only road to Kalbajar, that is, a road convenient for travel, is Ganja-Goygol, Goygol-Kalbajar," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with AzerTag as part of his visit to Ganja on January 30.

"We can conveniently use this road only in the spring and summer season. That’s because in winter, the road becomes impassable and very dangerous in some places. This road practically did not exist in the Soviet times, it was a path. In a short time, we expanded it, and last year I myself drove along this road to Kalbajar through the Murov pass. A large tunnel, about 12 kilometers long, is currently being laid under Mount Murov (Murovdag)," the head of state said.
