President Aliyev: There were 10,000 deserters in Armenian army, none of our soldiers fled battlefield

“Every year in May, the enemy celebrated the occupation of Shusha, which is sacred to us,” President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev said, speaking to the servicemen in Shusha, Report informs.

In May of this year, the Kharibulbul festival took place here, on Jidir Plain. In August, the Vagif Poetry Days were held, the poems of Vagif and other genius poets were performed... The sounds of the azan calling for prayer in the Shusha mosque, the sounds of mugham on Jidir Plain, the recitation of poetry in front of the Vagif Mausoleum - all this is reality. We have achieved this. Despite all the international pressure, despite all the threats, our people united like a fist, and we fulfilled this historic and glorious mission.

For 44 days, we moved forward every day, did not take a step back. There were 10,000 deserters in the Armenian army, while not a single soldier of the Azerbaijani army fled from the battlefield. This is our national spirit. This is the spirit of Azerbaijan,” the president said.
