Parameters of burial places specified in Azerbaijan

Baku. 7 December. REPORT.AZ/ An area of 5 square meters will be allocated for each burial place in Azerbaijan, as envisaged by the newly approved Cemetery Establishment and Management Guidelines.

Report informs that under the guidelines, the distance between the graves must be 1 meter on the longer side and 0.5 meters on the shorter side.

The parameters of burial places for burying in line with religious traditions and local conditions are set at 2 meters in length, 1 meter in width and 1.4 meters in depth.

The size of a burial place can be altered depending on the parameters of the deceased.

When digging the burial hole, its depth must not be lower than 0.5 meters above the ground waters.

The cinerarium with the ashes of a cremated citizen of Azerbaijan must contain a board with the full name of the dead, dates of his/her birth and death and be 0.75 meters in length, 0.6 meters in width and 0.4 meters in depth, or a burial place of 0.75 meters in length, 0.6 meters in width and 0.8 meters in width, with a total area of 2 square meters.

The funeral urn depending on the weight of the dead must be from 4 liters. Regardless of the shape, the urn wall must be 0.02 meters, and for its easy placement, the height must be no more than 0.35 meters and it must be made of natural stone or metal.

After burial, the grave is filled with sod by 0.5 meters.
