Ombudsperson’s reps visit Armenian citizen arrested in Azerbaijan’s Lachin

On the instruction of Azerbaijan’s Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) Sabina Aliyeva, within the activities of the National Preventive Mechanism, members of the National Preventive Group have once again visited the detainees in the pre-trial detention center, Report informs referring to the Office of the Ombudsperson.

In the detention center, along with other persons, members of the National Preventive Group visited Armenian citizen Rashid Beglaryan, who was arrested on August 1, 2023 for illegally crossing the Azerbaijan-Armenia state border section passing through the territory of Zabukh village of Lachin district. He was presented with legislative acts in his native language.

During the conversation, the detainee expressed gratitude for ensuring his rights, providing the necessary medical and psychological assistance.
