There is a high voter turnout at polling station No. 2 of electoral district No. 7 of the Sabayil district, located at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan, Chairman of Russia’s Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin told journalists after visiting the polling station, Report informs.
“We see a huge number of people looking optimistic. Confidence in the future can be seen in their eyes. People want to make their choice in favor of prosperity, in favor of modern, sovereign Azerbaijan, which will bring its own positive results for everyone,” Karasin said.
He noted that today’s elections in Azerbaijan can become a model for the presidential elections in the Russian Federation: “Russia is also preparing for the March elections, and we [observers] will bring some experience from Baku to ourselves.”
For the first time since the country’s independence, elections are being held throughout the territory of sovereign Azerbaijan.
