Awarding honorary titles to women fighting pandemic proposed in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan has a perfect legal framework that ensures women's equality of rights and opportunities, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Labor and Social Policy Musa Guliyev said at a conference on "The role of civil society in promoting gender equality and women's rights" at the party's headquarters, Report informs.

According to him, although the maternal mortality rate in the country decreased to a minimum in 2018 (17) compared to 1993-94 (60 and 70), the tendency to increase in 2019 and 2020 (21 and 20) is a worrying signal.

"It worries us all. During the pandemic, women (health workers, social workers, educators, etc.) were at the forefront of the social front. I suggest giving these women honorary titles or awards," he added.
