Advanced technologies are being deployed in mine clearance operations in Azerbaijan, but the human factor retains a key role, Report informs, citing statements by Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov on the sidelines of the 4th International Mine Action Conference.
According to him, many emerging technologies remain in the research phase: "There is currently no technology in the world capable of replacing a human. Therefore, despite the application of new technologies, the human factor continues to play a central role in the mine clearance process."
