Abdurrahman Vazirov dead at 91

Former First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Azerbaijani SSR Abdurrahman Vazirov has died at the age of 91, his son Eldar Vazirov told Report.
The politician, originally from Shusha, was born in 1930 in the Binagadi district of Baku. He headed the Azerbaijani SSR from 1988 to 1990. He took refuge in Russia after the January 20, 1990 massacre and lived there for the rest of his life.
