6 premeditated murders of past years solved in Azerbaijan

Six premeditated murders committed in previous years were solved in Azerbaijan in 2024, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev said at an expanded board meeting of the Prosecutor General's Office, Report informs.

He noted that during the reporting period, the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office completed preliminary investigations on 27 criminal cases, sending them to court for consideration.

At the meeting, it was noted that thanks to joint investigative and operational measures with the participation of internal affairs, state security, and justice bodies, 43 murders from previous years have been solved since May 1, 2020. Of these, 35 cases were sent to court, 31 resulted in convictions, three cases were terminated due to statute of limitations, and the rest are in the trial stage.
