569 candidacies approved for participation in early parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan

"Up to date, 901 candidates have applied for participation in early parliamentary elections," Chair of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panakhov said at a session of the Commission today.

He noted that 149 of all candidates represent 11 political parties: "Initiative groups nominated five people, and 752 are independent candidates."

Panakhov noted that the Commission had approved 569 candidacies. Of those, 439 have already taken their signature lists.

Early parliamentary elections to Milli Majlis are due on February 9, 2020.
