German State Chancellery responds to appeal on Khojaly Genocide

The State Chancellery of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia has responded to the appeal of the German-Azerbaijani House of Culture in Cologne on the Khojaly genocide.

The State Committee on Work with Diaspora told Report that the letter, on behalf of the Chancellor, thanked the House of Culture for the appeal and the book titled "They will never grow up."

"The State Chancellery opposes all forms of war and torture. We hope that the realities of the Khojaly genocide would be revealed through the joint efforts of German federal authorities and the parties to the conflict," the letter said.

The letter is a high-level reaction of German officials to essential events held by diaspora organizations in connection with the Khojaly genocide.

The German-Azerbaijani House of Culture in Cologne is working to prevent the formation of a false and pro-Armenian opinion about the realities of Karabakh in the local community. To this end, the House of Culture sends appeals, as well as books in German and English (Genocides committed by Armenians against Turks in the XX century, authored by Boran Aziz), (Children who did not grow up, by Elshad Eyvazli) and (They will never grow up, by Sariyya Jafarova) to all German provincial leaders and the Bundestag every year on the eve of the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.
