Georgia's public school to be named after Azerbaijani

Public school № 218 located in Tbilisi will be named after former director Rustam Isayev.

Georgian Bureau of the Report News Agency informs that this issue was discussed at the session of the Education and Culture Commission of the City Council of Sakrebulo.

Elders Council of the Ponichala settlement of the Krtsanisi district of the city and the Board of Trustees of the school appealed to Sakrebulos of Tbilisi on the initiative to give the name of the former director.

Tamar Taliashvili, head of the Education and Culture Commission, said it is welcomed to give the name of the persons, who have great services for the schools and it can be a high value for their services.

Notably, Isayev worked as a teacher of the German language, head of the teaching department, director, secretary and chairman of the village council of Public school № 218 in different years. Building a new three-storey building for the school and raising the level of education were conducted on his own initiative.

Director of the school, members of the Trustee Council and teachers attended the meeting. They informed members of the commission about the activities of Rustam Isayev and the purpose of renaming the schools named after him.
