A concert dedicated to the “Year of Shusha” and November 8 - Azerbaijan's Victory Day took place in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, Report informs referring to the State Committee for Work with Diaspora.

The event was organized by the Azerbaijani Diaspora Support Fund, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Poland and the Polish National Philharmonic.

The concert was attended by Chairman of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora Fuad Muradov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Poland Nargiz Gurbanova, employees of the Turkish Embassy in this country, public and political figures of Poland, members of the Azerbaijani, Turkish and Jewish communities, representatives of the local community.

Speaking before the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Poland Nargiz Gurbanova noted that Shusha, called the temple of Azerbaijani music and the conservatory of the Caucasus, presented the musical world with brilliant masters.

Comparing the significance of this city for Azerbaijan with the significance of Vienna for Austria, Naples for Italy, she stressed that Shusha represents great spiritual value for the Azerbaijanis throughout the world. The ambassador brought to the attention of the guests that the glorious victory of Azerbaijan simultaneously serves as the embodiment of the triumph of international law and justice.

Chairman of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora Fuad Muradov stated that the musical event, which will feature the works of brilliant masters of Poland and Azerbaijan, makes a great contribution to the development of cultural ties between the two countries.

He added that the city of Shusha has historically been the center of Azerbaijani culture and socio-political life, reminding that in many countries of the world, including Poland, a number of events are being held in connection with the announcement of 2022 as the “Year of Shusha” by the order of President Ilham Aliyev.

Stressing that this year marks the 550th anniversary of historical relations and the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the chairman of the committee brought to the attention of the guests that the Polish and Azerbaijani peoples have historically made mutual contributions to each other's culture.

The concert program with the participation of the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra conducted by Eyyub Guliyev included works by Azerbaijani and Polish composers.

At the entrance to the concert hall, an exhibition was organized reflecting Azerbaijan's victory, as well as a presentation of a CD prepared by the Polish recording company “Orphee Classics.”
