Azerbaijanis appeal to international organizations on Armenia’s refusal to provide mine maps to Azerbaijan

The Natavan Group in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and some members of the Azerbaijani community in this country have appealed to international organizations on the Armenian government's refusal to hand over the maps of minefields to Azerbaijan, Report informs, referring to State Committee on Work with Diaspora.

The appeal made by Narmina Mammadova, Sabina Guliyeva, and active members of the diaspora to the European Union, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations, Amnesty International, and office of Human Rights Watch in the United Kingdom, HALO Trust, UNICEF Innocent, and UK MPs informs about the trilateral agreement dated November 10, 2020, and Azerbaijan’s capability to restore its territorial integrity.

The authors of the appeal note with regret that our compatriots, who have been displaced from their native lands for almost 30 years, are still unable to realize their dreams of returning home because the Armenian armed forces have placed numerous mines in the liberated territories. It was noted in the appeal that foreign journalists and politicians visited the liberated territories of Azerbaijan after the Second Karabakh War, called Agdam "Hiroshima of the Caucasus" due to the level of destruction, and stressed that the use of anti-personnel mines as a weapon is a crime against humanity.

The Azerbaijanis called on international organizations to influence the Armenian government to hand over the maps of minefields to Azerbaijan, to support official Baku in clearing the occupied territories of mines and ensuring the safe return of ethnic Azerbaijanis to their homes.
