The news of the death of Azerbaijani journalists in a mine explosion in the Kalbajar region has infuriated our compatriots living in different countries of the world and public activists and foreign journalists who have friendly relations with our country, the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora told Report.

Andreia Hiromi, an activist living in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Emilia Ahmadova, a writer living in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, addressed international organizations, local and foreign media. They said that it was unacceptable to remain indifferent to Armenia's mine action.

Reminding ignorance by Armenia of Azerbaijan's insistence on handing over minefield maps, Hiromi called on Brazilians and the international community to support Azerbaijan's just and fair position.

Recalling that despite the end of the war, subversive groups of the Armenian armed forces were caught setting new mines in the Kalbajar region, Ahmadova called the death of Azerbaijani journalists a war crime of Armenia. Our compatriot urged the international community to put pressure on Armenia to fulfill its obligations and remind it of its moral duty to protect human life.

An article by Brazilian journalist Fabiana Ceyhan on the news sites https://brasiliainfoco.com and https://www.omundodiplomatico.com covered the tragic incident in Kalbajar, Armenia's intentional planting of mines in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, and the attempts of Armenian armed forces to establish new landmines in Kalbajar settlements and roads. "Armenia remains a serious threat to the lives and security of servicemen and civilians in the region," the author said.
