Baku to host 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue this week

The 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue will be held in Baku this week.

Report informs that the organizers of the event to be held on May 2-3 are UNESCO, UN Alliance of Civilizations, the World Tourism Organization, the Council of Europe and ISESCO.

The Forum will be dedicated to the topic “Building dialogue into action against discrimination, inequality and violence”.

UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Miguel Moratinos, UNESCO Assistant Director for Social and Human Sciences Nada Al-Nashif, Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation Yousef Al-Othaimeen, ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Gabriella Battaini Dragoni will arrive in Azerbaijan to attend the 5th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue

The two-day forum will explore the role of intercultural dialogue to help local people (as a practical strategy) to build human solidarity and to combat violence and discrimination in different communities. Furthermore, the 2nd high-level meeting of the international organizations and ministers will be held within the forum to form synergy and partnership between political, economic, financial, military, humanitarian and social organizations to develop a common roadmap for organizations representing public, private and third sectors in promoting intercultural dialogue and human dignity.
