Azerbaijani national cuisine presented in Sofia

Azerbaijan's national cuisine has been presented in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Azerbaijan's embassy in Bulgaria told Report that the event, organized on the occasion of Sustainable Gastronomy Day, was attended by state officials from Azerbaijan and Bulgaria, mayors, representatives of the agriculture, tourism, environment, hospitality and gastronomy sectors, as well as members of academic circles and media representatives.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Bulgaria Elmar Mammadov said in his speech that Azerbaijan's culinary heritage clearly reflects the philosophy of balance between people, culture and the natural environment.
"Azerbaijani lavash, the tradition of baking bread in a tandoor, dolma, tea culture and the Pomegranate Festival, which are among the important elements of Azerbaijan's gastronomic heritage, have been included in UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage," he said.
The guests then tasted various traditional Azerbaijani dishes and sweets, including shah plov, vine leaf dolma, gutab with greens and meat, mangal salad, dogramach, Baku pakhlava, Shaki pakhlava, Nakhchivan sujuk, Ganja Chinar chocolates and shakarbura.
