UN: Digital technologies can slow down biodiversity loss

It is impossible to achieve climate targets without reducing biodiversity loss, Tatiana Molcean, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, said at the high-level roundtable on Green Digital Action held on the sidelines of COP29, Report informs.
"Digital technologies are of exceptional importance in this process. They can strengthen management to reduce biodiversity loss, and ensure faster data sharing and knowledge dissemination. Digital transformation is an important tool that we must constantly keep in focus in this regard," Molchean noted.
Molcean also highly appreciated the Green Digital Declaration and emphasized the necessity of international cooperation and joint action in ensuring sustainable development.
