Iraqi Kurdistan officials receive COP29 invitation from Azerbaijan

During his visit to the city of Erbil, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Iraq Nasir Mammadov held a series of meetings where he handed over invitation letters to the officials of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

The diplomat shared the news on his social media account, stating, "Today, during my visit to Erbil, I delivered the COP29 invitation letter addressed to the head of the region, Nechirvan Barzani, to the head of the regional administration, Fawzi Hariri. The letter addressed to the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, was handed over to Safeen Dizayee, the head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the region."

Prior to the COP29 invitation, Ambassador Mammadov also met with the Turkish Consul General in Erbil, Erman Topcu, further strengthening regional cooperation and dialogue.
