The 3rd meeting of the Board of the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage, established to assist developing countries particularly vulnerable to the negative impacts of climate change, has got underway in Baku, Azerbaijan, Report informs.
The event is expected to bring together nearly 200 representatives from developed and developing countries, the United Nations, other international organizations, the World Bank, international non-governmental organizations, and like-minded groups.
During the meeting, the appointment of the Fund's Executive Director is on the agenda. Participants will also engage in crucial discussions regarding the High-Level Dialogue on financial mechanisms for loss and damage, set to be officially launched during the World Leaders' Climate Action Summit at COP29.
