Businesswomen to launch 40 small enterprises in regions

"Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan, Georgian representation of the Swiss office on cooperation supported the creation of 32 women enterprises in Tovuz, two in Oguz and three in Gadabay," chairman of the association Sakina Babayeva said.

Report informs, citing Babayeva, that these enterprises will be launched in early March.

"Our goal is to improve the welfare of women living in regions. Among the enterprises are bakeries, confectionaries, as well as small restaurants, women's gyms, and others."

Women constitute nearly 20% of individual entrepreneurs, registered in Azerbaijan. Head of the State Committee for Problems of Family, Women, and Children Hijran Huseynova said in 2019 that over the past 16 years, 4,327 women entrepreneurs received AZN 79,100,000 in loans. The preferential loans, provided to women entrepreneurs, promoted the creation of 6,797 new jobs.
