Wealth of world's billionaires increased to 7.7 tln USD

Baku. 8 August. REPORT.AZ/ Total wealth of the world's billionaires has increased nearly 7.7 trilion USD.

Report informs citing RBC, estimates of Wealth-X experts states.

According to the estimates, the most billionaires live in Europe, while number of billionaires is growing rapidly in Asia.

Number of people with wealth of 1 bln USD or more has increased by 6.4% in 2015: now 2473 people has such large property.

According to Wealth-X analysts, total wealth of billionaires made 7.683 tln USD according to 2015 results. This is an absolute record during period of the report preparation.

In comparison with last year, total capital of billionaires increased by 5.4% and exceeded the GDP indicator of all countries of the world, excluding the US and China.

In the report, 2015 year is shown more 'productive' for Asia (excluding the Near East): number of billionaires increased by 15.2% in the region. This figure is almost 5-fold more than the increase in North America. As a result, Asia ranked 2nd in the world, for number of the residents, who have at least 1 bln USD (645 people). Number of billionaires makes 628 in North America.

Europe still remains the leader for the number of billionaires (806). However, wealth of local rich people decreased by 1.9% in 2015. This decline was also observed in other regions, and in the larger volumes. For example, wealth of billionaires residing in North America decreased by 8%, 'top level' in Asia by 19.6%, while in Near East by 9%.
