Value of Georgian cotton imports from Azerbaijan soar

In the first five months of 2024, Georgia imported cotton worth $126,000 from Azerbaijan.
According to calculations by Report based on data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia, this figure represents a staggering 8.4-fold increase compared to the same period last year.
With this substantial growth, Azerbaijan has secured the 4th position among the countries supplying cotton to Georgia.
During the reporting period, Georgia's total cotton imports amounted to $2.16 million, marking a 6% decrease from the previous year.
Türkiye emerged as the top cotton exporter to Georgia, with exports valued at $1.39 million, followed by China ($283,000), Bulgaria ($162,000), and Italy ($76,300).
