Turkic businessmen invited to invest in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh and East Zangazur

The government of Azerbaijan invited Turkic businessmen to get acquainted with investment opportunities in Karabakh and East Zangazur, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov voiced the call of the government at the Second Agribusiness Forum of Turkic States held in Baku, Report informs.

“In 2020, thanks to the high will of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and the determination of our brave army, Azerbaijan liberated its lands that had been under occupation for 30 years. This victory also restored the ethnopolitical geography of Turkic unity as a victory of the Turkic world. During the occupation, those areas were completely destroyed and rendered unusable. Mosques, madrassas, other historical and cultural monuments and houses were destroyed, the territories were mined. Currently, large-scale reconstruction works are being carried out in those areas, mines are being cleared, new roads, smart cities and smart villages are being built,” he noted.

“Our territories liberated from occupation, declared by President Ilham Aliyev as a green energy zone, have great agricultural potential and have 128,000 hectares of land suitable for agriculture. Now our main goal is to demine other agricultural lands in the area and build a disease-free, digital, sustainable agricultural system based on state-of-the-art practices and technologies. Of course, we intend to do these things together with you - businessmen, and therefore I invite you to get familiarized with the investment opportunities in Karabakh and East Zangazur. Our expectation is that businessmen from the Turkic community will establish close cooperation and apply the best practices and technologies of our countries in the liberated territories,” the minister added.
