Although in the short term, as a result of the contraction of the consumer market in China, there is some decrease in Azerbaijan's exports of several food products, in the long term, the importance of this market for Azerbaijan will increase even more, Teymur Nadiroglu, Trade Representative of Azerbaijan in China, said in an interview with Report.
“I think that there are broad prospects for increasing the volume of trade between the two countries, in particular the export of non-oil products from Azerbaijan to China,” Nadiroglu said.
The trade representative stressed that there is a great demand in China for chemical goods produced in Azerbaijan, in particular for polymers.
According to him, since China is the world's center of production, raw materials are in great demand there: "Along with this, Chinese companies are also interested in Azerbaijani cotton."
Teymur Nadiroglu said that in 2022, Azerbaijan's trade turnover with China increased by 23.5% compared to 2021 and amounted to $2.159 billion. China ranks fourth among Azerbaijan's trading partners.
