Swiss companies interested in doing business in Azerbaijan

The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy is ready to do everything possible to attract Swiss companies to Azerbaijan, Chairman of the SMBDA Board Orkhan Mammadov said at the Azerbaijani-Swiss business forum, Report informs.

“Yesterday we took part in the meeting of the Joint Commission and were pleased that Swiss companies are interested in doing business in Azerbaijan. This shows that we are on the right track, and the focus should be on developing proper interaction between the state and the private sector. Today’s event is a great opportunity to expand business cooperation. Our agency is actively working to achieve important results, uniting the business communities of Azerbaijan and Switzerland,” he said.

The chairman stressed that in September of this year, the General Assembly of the Swiss-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) was held in Geneva, jointly organized by SMBDA and the Azerbaijani Embassy in Switzerland, with the participation of officials and business representatives of the two countries.

“We support SACCI and wait for it to turn into a functional business platform as soon as possible,” Mammadov added.
